Phil Kozak

Phil Kozak was born on 1/23/1962 and grew up in the small town of Pompton Lakes, NJ. Phil was introduced to fishing at age 5 and by the age of 7, he was headed into the field with his dad to learn the ropes of hunting. At age 11, Phil harvested his first whitetail deer with the bow. It was a large unusual 18” cow horn spike buck, that all the guys Phil hunted with were trying to get. That day started a life long journey for Phil hunting whitetails.
By age 20, Phil was traveling the globe hunting other North American big game, but it was not until 2000, when Phil set some higher personal goals. One was to take a whitetail that would score Boone and Crocket with the bow. Phil has taken many Pope and Young Whitetails over the years, but his thirst for hunting trophy game had grown with age. In 2000, Phil did some research and found a few key areas, where the odds of taking a Boone and Crocket buck would be higher than normal. The place, was northern Alberta. During Phil’s first trip, with the bow, to Alberta, he was successful in taking a 153” 10 Point whitetail, with sightings of giant bucks Phil had never seen before. His return to Alberta the following year, in 2001, made Phil’s dreams come true with a whopping 192, 5/8” gross, 190” net, monster 300lb 19 point whitetail! And believe it or not, Phil took the smaller of the 2 bucks he had seen that day.
Since then, Phil continues to travel the US and Canada and has been spending some time in the Mid US, where he has seen bucks as large or larger than in Alberta. He continues to travel the globe to add to his impressive 145 plus whitetail harvest statistics, along with grizzly bears, black bears, mule deer, goat and elk, not to mention doing a little relaxing fishing along the way. So, follow along with Phil as he travels the globe…in search of the ultimate trophy!
